How To: Install .jar Mods!

The way you describe on how to install Java mods is incorrect. The reason is that, if you place the java file into the mod folder, it will only function as a basic mode unless another one is installed in another section of the ".minecraft." folder. Here is what I mean:

1. Cut or copy the jar file, but don't yet paste it. 2. Open the versions folder and create a new folder, however you would like to call it 3. Copy the jar file into the folder you just made. Copy the jar file into the folder again and this time with a brand new name. Open the jar file in notepad. Copy the entire text, and then close the file. Copy the file and delete it.  Another day another cube Create another file (most likely a txt file) and name it exactly the same way as the jar file's name is 8. Save the file with the same name like the jar files as a.json. Open the json file using Notpad and copy the next 10. Start the launcher , and then select the mod you wish to "made."

10,5. If this doesn't work, follow these steps 11. Open the version folder. Select the folder that you don't need. If the mod is 1.7.10 you'll need to find a folder that runs 1.7.10 Minecraft version 12. Copy the jar file into the folder you've chosen. Change the name to match the JSON file. Launch the launcher and choose the version.

If you are unable to locate the folder then go back to the versions folder then look after the last edited folder and rename it however you'd like. I suggest that you rename all files in that folder to exactly the same name as the folder.
